Breakaway Research Group values the privacy of its clients, research participants, and website visitors. This privacy policy applies to anyone visiting our website or submitting information as part of a survey.
We adhere to the CASRO code of standards and Ethics for Survey Research. You may visit CASRO and read the code of standards at www.casro.org.

Although Breakaway Research Group is not registered with the U.S. Department of Commerce as a Safe Harbor certified organization, we adhere to European Union law requirements on personal information, as set forth in the Safe Harbor Principles regarding the transfer, collection, use or disclosure of personal information of European citizens. We will never knowingly collect, post, or distribute personal information from children under that age of 13 without permission of a legal guardian. Children under the age of 13 should not submit personal information to us without permission of a legal guardian.

Personal data are frequently collected for survey purposes (e.g., ensuring that we are surveying a representative group of people). You may be asked to provide contact information in order to claim a prize you have won. Personal information collected as part of a survey will be used solely for research purposes. Your information will never be traded or sold to any third-party and will never be used for direct marketing purposes. In some cases, we will remove identifiable features from collected personal information and the resulting information may then be used for statistical, historic, scientific or other purposes, consistent with applicable law. Under certain circumstances permitted or required by law or court order, we may collect, use, and/or disclose Personal Information pursuant to procedures that do not require giving notice or conducting related activities (for example, in connection with law enforcement investigations).

Respondents for our surveys are recruited from a database of individuals who have indicated an interest or willingness to receive email messages from Breakaway Research Group, its vendors, and/or its clients. We seek explicit consent for sensitive information/opt-in and maintain procedures to assure that information about children or other categories of sensitive information is only collected with explicit consent and is protected against improper use, consistent with applicable law. You may opt-out of receiving electronic communications at any time by clicking on the “opt-out” link at the bottom of a survey or invitation or by sending a message to jennifer.boldry@breakawayresearchgroup.com.

Breakaway Research Group uses cookies for the purpose of tracking how our website is used and improving its content. We do not track any browsing you do at any other sites. We will not use any information collected at this website for direct marketing purposes. Cookies are also used to maintain information about your current survey session so that you can stop taking the survey at any time but resume where you left off at your convenience. Once you have completed the survey and/or the survey has closed, these cookies are automatically deleted by your device. If you email us or complete the “contact us” form, you are voluntarily releasing information to us. We will use your email address only to respond to you. Occasionally, we will post hyperlinks to websites outside of Breakaway Research Group. We can make no guarantees regarding data collection on hyperlinked pages and sites that are not owned by Breakaway Research Group.

We utilize the self-assessment approach to assure its compliance with our privacy statement. We periodically verifies that the policy is accurate, comprehensive for the information intended to be covered, prominently displayed, completely implemented, and in conformity with the Safe Harbor Principles. We reserve the right to, modify and update this policy or its related business practices at any time. We will NOT apply changes to this policy retroactively to information we have previously collected.

We require others who process our data to comply with this policy, including those engaged to provide support services, at a minimum, to adopt and comply with the principles and objectives of this policy.
